Drivers license when holding a foreign license

Nicaraguan Driver License - When holding a valid license from another country

License requirements:

1. Completion of Driver Training Seminar ( 10 Cordoba for materials)
2. Successful completion of written exam in Spanish ( 5 Cordoba for materials)
3. Blood type identification and certification (Red Cross)
4. Exam of vision (Red Cross)

License documentation requirements:

All of the items below are required in order to process your application:

1. Application form ( 3 Cordoba)
2. Copy of your Cedula / Both sides ( 2 Cordoba)
3. Copy of your valid Drivers License from abroad / Both sides ( 2 Cordoba)
4. Constancia of completion of the Driver Training Seminar (Original) ( 160 Cordoba)
5. Results of Blood Type test. (Original) ( 100 Cordoba)
6. Results of Vision Test (Original) ( 100 Cordoba)
7. Receipt of payment for Seminar ( 160 Cordoba)
8. Receipt of payment for Driver license ( 100 Cordoba)
9. Valid license insurance of the applicant ( 170 Cordoba)

Total cost not including use of vehicle for the driving test: 637 Cordoba.

Places to visit in order to obtain your License:

1. Police station: Usually in the Department Capital
2. Banpro to pay for the Seminar and the License (Note: The seminar is paid into a separate account and MUST be paid at Banpro)
3. Red Cross for the Blood test and the Eye exam
4. For the Seminar and the written exam check at the Police station.

Allow for up to 15 days from start to finish.
